Dutch urban culture city hosts first edition Pro Freestyle 2016
Today the Pro Freestyle organisation announced that Dutch city Heerlen (Limburg, Holland) will host the first Pro Freestyle Tournament of 2016. From June 30th – July 3rd. The Hague will be the host city for the 2nd edition (August 2016).

The 2016 tournament is designed as an action sports, music, culture festival. With a multi action sports tournament in Skateboard Street, BMX Street, BMX Park, Inline Park, Scoot Park and MTB Park. Next to pro athletes, amateur athletes are also able to participate in the tournament.

Besides sports the tournament brings music, DJ’s, bands, movies, photo expo, drawing and painting battles, freestyle demo’s, athlete talks, meet & greets and foods & drinks. DIY tracks and fun courses help visitors to get into the mood of being active themselves. All action and activities take place right in downtown Heerlen city.

Heerlen is a southern city in the Dutch province of Limburg and is known for its urban and youth culture. It has massive street art, the notorious International Breakdance Event and Heerlen also hosted the last edition of the biggest national multimedia event Serious Request.
Tournament

Pro and amateur athletes participate in six action sports games: Skateboard Street, BMX Street, BMX Park, Inline Park, Step Park, MTB Park. Amateurs qualify themselves for the tournament by sending in a video with their tricks. The AM tournament winner gets a place in the pro qualifications. Further details will follow soon. Pro athletes will be selected by the sports coordinator.

Course presentation
During todays press conference the organisation presented the custom course for the tournament. The course is designed by the leading Dutch indoor skate and BMX parks (Pier 15 and 040BMXPark). A 20 x 40-meter course is a combination park between street and park elements.

A successful first edition in 2015
With 39,400 spectators over three days the first edition of Pro Freestyle Tournament was a huge success. In the Dutch parliament city The Hague over 200 athletes performed in several action sports.
